Care-sharing in Action.

Last month, CarePortal leaders from all over the US and Canada came together to learn, celebrate, and prepare for the future of Care-sharing! Our CEO, Adrien Lewis, shared his vision for the future... "One day, Care-sharing will be as ubiquitous as Ride-sharing.” In other words... Using CarePortal to connect your community will be as common as using Uber to get around town.

Recently, we watched “Care-sharing” in action as one of our communities came together to help a foster family.  The family has nine children in their home and their air conditioning stopped working.  Mom immediately picked up an additional part-time job (in the evenings) so she could help pay for repairs. Even with the extra income, the family was not prepared for the $15,000 bill that ensued.  Their case worker worried that this request was too big for CarePortal but her ministry partners encouraged her to go ahead and try... hoping to help as much as they could.

"Now to him who is able to do immeasurably MORE than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever!" ~Ephesians 3:20-21 (emphasis mine)

Over the next week, nearly $11,000 came in from one church member after another.  Individuals gave what they could, and the blessings started adding up. A local foundation, who served as a CarePortal Champion, saw the requests, and immediately offered the rest! Today, that mom is spending her evenings investing in family and welcoming kids into her home-instead of welcoming shoppers into a Target store. This is what happens when we practice Care-Sharing!  We all do what we can, and together we accomplish big things.

Let's do MORE of that! Let's imagine MORE for our community! Let's ask for MORE with MORE faith in our hearts! And let's bring EVEN MORE Glory to the one who's power works within us!
