Dare to Dream Big.

"DARE TO DREAM BIG" by Chris Navarro at Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum

I recently came across this sculpture (I'm an art student... what can I say?) and it reminded me of a passage in the Book "Chase the Lion" by Mark Batterson. The premise of the book is that faith has to be acted out in the same way that Benaiah chased a lion into a pit in 2 Samuel 23:20. He uses the term "lion chaser" a lot to describe faith do-ers.

"Most people believe God is real, but few actually live like it. The result is a widening gap between theology and reality. They allow their circumstances to come between them and God, rather than letting God get between them and their circumstances. That's the difference between a scaredy-cat and a lion chaser.... God isn't going to say "well said", "well thought", or "well planned" {to his good and faithful servants} he will say "well DONE."

My encouragement this week is to dare with me to dream big. Let's imagine, together, what could happen in our community if our collective faith took unified action! And then, Let's lean into to that with our time, energy and resources.

"What good is it, my brothers, if someone claims to have faith, but has no deeds? Can such faith save him? Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you tells him, “Go in peace; stay warm and well fed,” but does not provide for his physical needs, what good is that? So too, faith by itself, if it does not result in action, is dead. James 2:14-17

Here, James affirms that deeds (or actions) are the byproduct of a living faith... Not a means to salvation but the fruit that grows from one who is transformed by His grace. If you've been transformed by the grace of God, join with me as we act out our faith in our community! Consider joining a connection team to serve one of the families represented by these OPEN REQUESTS: https://www.careportal.org/open-requests/

Hit that BIG ORANGE BUTTON that says "Yes, I can help!" and do what you can to show faith in action to our community!
