Holiday Service Round Up

When your team is KILLING IT with the Holiday Cheer.

As the Holiday season approaches, we’ve had so many of you reaching out, asking what can you do to help CarePortal over the Holidays. I thought I’d take a minute and just share with you a bunch of ideas.

1. Reconnect. One of our amazing CarePortal Leaders has created a “giving tree” with all the families this church has served through careportal this year. Church members take a tag off the tree and commit to pray and provide a gift for that family. That’s a tremendous idea. If that’s a little too big of an undertaking for you and your church, consider following up with ONE of the families you personally connected with and offering holiday help. Reconnecting is always a good thing!

2. Support a caseworker. Our caseworkers have been working double time to keep kids safe during this pandemic. If you are interested in supplying small gifts or appreciation (think stocking stuffers: hand sanitizer, chapstick, tissues, gum, pens, post it notes etc) and hand written notes, let us know asap. We have LOTS of caseworkers we’d like to show some love to, and if several people adopted a few, that would be easy work!

3. Give a Gift. As you know, most of our regularly scheduled fundraisers have been cancelled due to the pandemic so funding has been low this year. If you’ve been considering making a charitable donation, please think of CarePortal.

Connect with me if you want more details.

4. Meet a Need. You can always go to CarePortal.org, type your county into the search bar and see all the needs by location. Consider making a new family tradition this year and meeting a need together. Alternately you could hit the FUND button to chip in with others in your community to meet a need together.

5. SERVE. Bring the kids, the aunts and uncles and even the long lost cousins to actually drop off needed items and connect with a local family! If you all mask up, you can safely serve this holiday season and include the relatives in a fun family activity!

If you have other fun and creative ideas for engaging over this crazy holiday season, please let me know. We ALL want to be as (if not more) effective at sharing the good news over the holidays as we are any other time of the year. Let’s not let the hustle and bustle get in the way of the thing we are actually celebrating! Haha
