When God exceeds all our expectations.
Several weeks ago I had the privilege of meeting a new friend through a CarePortal Connection. Her name is Jasmine and she's a single mom of 4. Last month, her case manager entered a request for a toddler bed so she could reunite with her youngest. My church was thrilled to help and we found the perfect bed at a neighborhood yard sale. In the process of moving that toddler bed into Jasmine's apartment, we got to talking. It turns out she was struggling to provide beds for all 4 of her children, because they really all needed to share ONE small bedroom. This week, when I got a chance to call Jasmine, and let her know that bunk beds were coming, this was her response:
"WOW. Thank you so much! We are so excited over here, I can't even tell you. All praises to God! This is a blessing of peace over our household. We are so grateful to you, to your church, to our caseworker and to everyone who contributed to my kids sleeping safe in MY HOME! I just can't believe it. I'm so happy right now. It just feels like everything I've been working and striving and praying for were answered when you arrived and then some...God is so good to give us even MORE than we even thought to ask for. Blessings on you and your family! You have been a blessing to us!"
And while I realize, we do this work for the Lord and not for the approval of people... I have to say, it feels really good when someone is happy about what we've done for them. When they accept our gift as if directly from God, that hits home! Even though I ask God to guide me into just the right conversations in just the right moments, with just the right people... I'm always surprised by MORE! I'm always so humbled to receive a blessing in return. This week, Jasmin donated her original toddler bed to another mom in need, and we put together the cutest little room for her 4 little ones to share. If you want to experience this ABUNDANCE.... This God who
"is able to do far more than we could ever ask for or imagine." ~Ephesians3:20...
consider serving a family through CarePortal this week. This week, I'm working hard to provide a Washer and Dryer for a grandmother who has taken in 4 grand kids. While the laundry mat down the street was working just fone for her on her own, she is struggling to keep 4 kids in clean clothes... walking with 5 loads of laundry a week (instead of 1) and dragging 4 little ones behind her is taking its toll. I wonder, if we chipped together, what kind of blessing we could provide for this grandma. COntact me if you want to help!
