When God puts things in focus.
As you know, the Ohio CarePortal team has been abundantly blessed over the past several months with God’s miraculous provision. We’ve seen an astounding number of needs met in the most jaw dropping ways recently… and as I look back on our local stories, I’m reminded of how powerful the Gospel in ACTION can be!
In Matthew 22:36-40 a Pharisee asks “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” Jesus replied:
"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. and the second is like it : ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
Recently, my pastor (Tom Baxter) gave this beautiful illustration: Tom has uneven eyesight. He sees much more clearly with the right eye than with the left. He compared that vision deficit to a "LOVE deficit" in the church. Church culture has, for a long time, led with that dominant eye "Love the Lord with all your heart"... and we have often seen less clearly when it comes to "Loving our neighbor as ourselves". It's a bilnd spot. We are human. But the two go hand in hand, and if we expect to express our love to God properly, we have to learn to love his people properly. CarePortal Family... I'm so blown away by your genuine love for your neighbor, physically expressed in your city. I get goose bumps just thinking about the POWER that you are unleashing in your neighborhoods by simply walking in obedience to the GREATEST COMMANDMENTS! All the law and the prophets hang on these two: Love God, and Love people... Thank you for loving God properly, by loving his people well! If you've been reading , and rejoicing in what God's doing, but you haven't had a chance to participate yet... I really want to encourage you to take the leap! Taking time out of your week to put a tangible expression behind your faith is life giving!

I am more convinced than ever that God is at work in Ohio! I am continually astonished by the earth shattering BLESSINGS that come from these very simple small acts... block by block, neighborhood by neighborhood, city by city God is changing things. And it is such a pleasure to serve him with you!
