Have you ever heard the phrase, "when it rains, it pours."? Sometimes it feels like that... when one thing goes wrong everything starts to fall apart! That's how Amanda felt, as a single mom. Amanda is a survivor. She's battled through abuse and addiction and found redemption on the other side. So, when God called her to open her home to a child in need, she obeyed... but only a few weeks later, those rain clouds started to roll in. First, the car broke down. And then she was laid off from her job. Amanda held on to her faith, but she was struggling when her local church responded to her CarePortal Request.

Here's what I noticed when I was listening to Amanda's story. YES, sometimes one small problem creates a snowball effect of trouble in our lives. The car breaks down, you can’t get to work, you lose your job, and soon you're facing the possibility of losing your family! But here's the good news... the God News... Sometimes one small solution creates a cascading down pour of blessing and joy!!!
And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. ~2 Corinthians 9:8
When Amanda's local church helped get her car running, they gained a faith warrior! When they helped her find a new job, she gained a support system. By keeping Amanda's family together, she was able to continue her good work! Everyone offering what they had to the needs of the body strengthened the entire congregation ... everyone was blessed abundantly. WHEN IT RAINS, IT POURS!
