When God writes a new story.
Don't you love it when God repeats himself again and again? Often times I hear him, but don't catch on right away... so I appreciate His patience in making Himself perfectly clear and making sure we don't miss what He's trying to say? ... I may still be processing this message, but He's speaking to me about The RE-WRITE.
Testimony after testimony of God's grace and provision circle this service driven, CarePortal connected, ministry. I talk a lot about how God is transforming lives, neighborhoods, and society! So when God kept saying "re-write" I kept answering, "YES. I know!"
But God is good. And he keeps saying it.
We all, with unveiled faces, are reflecting the glory of the Lord and are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory; this is from the Lord who is the Spirit. ~2 Corinthians 3:18
Here's a beautifully written song, by Paul Simon, that God put in my path this week. It's worth a listen (as is all of Paul Simon's work in my opinion😜)
Here's my favorite part:
"I'll eliminate the pages where the father has a breakdown and he has to leave the family but he really meant no harm. Gonna substitute a car chase and a race across the rooftops. Where the father saves the children and he holds them in his arms"
And this is a video featuring a good friend of mine, championing the Churches role in the RE-WRITE for our local kids!
I'm reminded of the last time time God spoke this word to my heart. One Christmas, when the CarePortal network was able to come together to provide single mom with a much needed vehicle. I vividly remember watching this young lady change her inner monologue from "nothing ever goes right for me" to "God really cares about me!" (you can read that whole story here: https://renae566.wixsite.com/servantlife/post/10-signs-you-must-be-a-people-pleaser )
Ok, enough with the links. I hope you take the time to start a study on God's work of transformation. Share your studies with me! I'd love to hear your thoughts on the subject. Here's what I'm taking away from my studies today: We don't have to finish where we started. God has plans to take whatever is broken and fix it so it can be used for His glory! And WE have a role in the RE-WRITE that He is doing on the stories in our community!
May we walk this week encouraged that God is at work changing hearts, lives, and circumstances. May we seek out ways where we can actively erase the old narrative and facilitate the writing of a new one. May we follow our Lord into His transformational work!
