What more proof do I need?

There are many moving parts to this elaborate story, and I'm inevitably going to leave something out... but let me lay out the pieces before I explode with excitement.

Recently, a local caseworker used CarePortal to advocate for one of his families.  He asked for a pretty substantial amount of money to help pay rent and avoid eviction for a family with 6 kids.  On top of that ask, we needed a volunteer who spoke Spanish to help connect with the family.  In the caseworkers’ words, “the need was too big for any of the other available resources- this seemed like a JOB FOR JESUS” so he reached out to the faith community.

We contacted a Spanish-speaking worship team (and our personal friends),"Juntos" (that means "together" in case you don't speak Spanish) to ask for help with the language barrier part, but the Lord moved.  Not only were they able to communicate with the family- they also met the BIG financial need AND one of their members offered the dad a higher paying job so he would be able to pay his back rent little by little. Need MET!  Connection made. Relationships and friendships were forming. Praise God… and he wasn’t done yet!

When the landlord received his payment and heard the story of what God was doing for this family he said, “If God is doing all of this- I’m not going to be the one standing in the way of your blessing” and he FORGAVE the back rent this family owed!!!! (local church members, were able to bless the family ABOVE the request with additional furniture and household items)

And one more thing- Remember The original caseworker who submitted the need on behalf of this family???  When his team heard that the need had been met, the family had been cared for IN SPANISH, the debt had been forgiven, the church had gone above and beyond what was asked… when they saw the family thriving- one co-worker said, “What more evidence could I need?  I’m in!  Count me as a believer! What do I do next.” He accepted Christ in prayer and then I introduced him to a great church close in his neighborhood.  He’s been attending with his children for several months now..

"God is able to do far more than we could ever ask for or imagine. He does everything by his power that is working in us." ~Ephesians3:20
